Jpd gulu started to work during the brutal insurgency waged by the rebels of the lord’s resistance army (lra). at its peak, around two million people in large areas in northern uganda have been forcefully displaced. while the high numbers of civilians being killed during massacres and the forceful abduction of child soldiers aroused attention worldwide, the archdiocese of gulu has led efforts to end the violence during two decades of civil war in northern uganda.
